Terra Little was born and raised in Missouri, in a city that's legendary for Imo's Pizza; "Chinaman" (fried rice) & Vess Soda; and White Castle burgers, Oh, and the Gateway Arch. It's famous for that, too.
On a personal note, among other things, Terra enjoys chill-time with her three grandsons; getting lost at chaotic flea markets and dusty antique stores; and the smell of freshly-baked...well, freshly-baked just about anything that she herself doesn't have to bake, because baking is in fact not on the fairly diverse list of things she enjoys.
Professionally, Terra holds advanced degrees in both Professional Counseling and Secondary Education, as well as undergraduate degrees in both Criminology and Sociology. Accordingly, the bulk of Terra's career endeavors have been and continue to be dedicated to the healing and helping arts, particularly in therapeutic and educational spaces catering to youth and young adults. Currently, Terra divides her career endeavors between education-based and community crisis intervention initiatives.
In 2004, Terra launched Brown Recluse Books, LLC, and self-published Running from Mercy, her first contemporary fiction novel. Soon afterward, Mercy was adapted into mainstream publishing and re-launched nationally under the Q-Boro Books/Urban Books banner. Since then, Terra has authored more than eight, nationally-published contemporary, women's, and romantic fiction titles, many of which are critically-acclaimed fan-favorites, and she has also contributed to the acclaimed Gumbo for the Soul Series.
Terra is also a prolific thematic, educational & motivational speaker.
